Assessments

Every assessment stays in the child’s file, ready to compare with the next

Aghsan keeps each assessment with its date and the specialist who ran it, so you can compare two assessments, follow how a child changes over time, and turn the results into goals and a treatment plan.

Where is the assessment from six months ago?

In many centers the specialist knows the old assessment exists, but it’s in a paper folder nobody can place, or with a colleague who has since left. So comparison rests on memory, and showing a parent that their child really has progressed gets harder than it should be.

The problem isn’t carrying out the assessment. It’s what happens afterwards: where it’s kept, whether anyone can find it again, and whether it connects to the goals the team is working on.

From the first assessment to reassessment

When you create a child’s first assessment, Aghsan starts a guided draft for you to complete. That assessment earns its value when it becomes the baseline everything later is measured against, which our guide to writing measurable therapy goals explains.

After whatever interval the specialist chooses, you reassess, and the results can be compared with what came before. An assessment stops being a sheet in a folder and becomes a series that shows the direction of progress:

  • First assessment: sets the starting point and the priorities
  • Reassessment: recorded in the same child’s file
  • Comparison: see what changed between one assessment and the next, and show it to the team or the family

Standardized tools or your center’s own

Aghsan supports standardized assessments and ones your center writes, and you can record different types in the same child’s file, such as language, behavior, motor and social assessments.

Aghsan helps organize assessment results, but it doesn’t choose the right tool for you. Some standardized scales, such as VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R and AFLS, are protected by copyright, and reproducing their full content inside any platform may need permission from the rights holder. The full explanation is on the ABA and behavior therapy centers page.

From results to goals and a plan

An assessment isn’t finished until it changes what the team works on. You can turn its results straight into measurable goals in therapy goals, and tie them to the treatment plan.

Aghsan also proposes goals and plan items from assessment results, for the specialist to choose from. A suggestion is a starting point; the clinical decision is the specialist’s.

What the team and the family see

Each assessment is added to the child’s record with its date and the responsible specialist, so a new specialist can see what was done before without asking the family to start over.

Any assessment can become a report with your center’s branding from the reports page. A parent sees none of it unless your center chooses to publish it through the parent portal.

What Aghsan doesn’t do

Aghsan is a management and documentation platform, not a clinical decision system. It does not:

  • Diagnose conditions or decide that a child needs a particular service
  • Choose the assessment tool for you or decide when to repeat it
  • Set goals on behalf of the qualified specialist

Frequently asked questions about assessments

What kinds of assessment can I record?

Different types in the same child’s file, such as language, behavior, motor and social assessments, whether standardized or written by your center.

Can I compare two assessments for the same child?

Yes. Aghsan keeps each assessment with its date and the specialist, and reassessment results can be compared with what came before.

Does Aghsan include scales like VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R or AFLS?

Aghsan supports assessment workflows and helps organize results. These scales may be protected by copyright, and reproducing their full content inside a software platform may need permission from the rights holder.

Does AI set a child’s goals?

No. Aghsan proposes goals and plan items from assessment results for the specialist to choose from, and clinical decisions stay with your team.

Is there a limit on the number of assessments?

No. Sessions, goals and assessments are unlimited, and pricing is per active child per year with every feature included.

Does an assessment make a child “active” for billing?

Yes. A child counts as active if a session, assessment or report is recorded for them during the billing year, and inactive children aren’t counted.
